INTRODUCTION:

According to data of WIPO, till 2020 7240 domain name has been registered. From this question arises that why there is a so much of domain name is needed, the simple answer for this is every organisation wants to have distinct from other organisation. This can be understood from the following points:

2. It creates the awareness among the consumer.
3. It helps to build the online space for the company.
4. It brings the advancement.
5. It helps to build the brand and market.

1. Simple Procedure: Domain name is very simple procedure and it need utmost care for not getting your domain name infringe. There are ample of choices given to domain holder to choose the domain name, according to their need. Country like India, domain name registration process is very simple.
2. Build the connectivity: with the good domain name, domain name holder can build the connectivity in the market. With better connectivity it will lead to better result for the business. It will bring potential growth on the business. 
3. Creditability and Professionalism: Domain name will help your business to build the creditability and professionalism. It can be seen as the sign of trust worthy.

The first step for getting the domain name registered is checking the availability of domain name. After finalising the domain name, domain name should submit to registrar for the registration. For getting a domain name registered the following information should be submitted:

1. The desire domain name.
2. Personal details like email address, physical address, contact number, etc.
3. Tenure of domain name.
4. Payment details.

The second step is if an information is received by the registrar, thereafter registrar will take the registration process further. The registrar will send a request to registry with relevant information provided by the domain name holder.

 The third step is registry will file the contact information. The registry will add the domain name to master server. These master servers inform to another server on the Internet that this particular domain name is registered.

CASE LAW:   

Bigtree Entertainment V Brain Seed Sportainment:

Fact: The Plaintiff has a very popular online ticket business known as bookmyshow.com. It has a word mark and logo mark.

The Defendant has an online platform used for booking sporting venues and other Sports aspects. 

Here the BOOKMY is same in case of both the party. The Plaintiff filed a suit for the infringement of word and logo mark against the defendant and also asking for a permanent injunction from defendant.

Held: 

The Honourable Court denied the Plaintiff claim for interim injunction against the Defendant. 

The Court further said that the Plaintiff has fail to prove that the ‘BOOKMY’ has a different and secondary meaning, dismissed the application filed by the Plaintiff for interim injunction.

CONCLUSION:

Without acquiring a domain, business cannot be standout. Domain name becomes essential part for every business It brings very aspects of enhancement. If your business is not running in a good wave then you may have an option to sell your domain name to another. Today is business is not directly known by its product but its domain name.  Domain name plays a crucial role in the business and it is also essential to take care of it.
